What an incredible week watching the light of Christ shine through First UMC at Mount Shepherd Retreat Center! 💛

From our children and youth who stepped away from everyday life to climb, explore, worship, laugh, and discover what it means to “Be the Light”… to the adults who showed up to encourage, support, and share in the joy of camp, God’s light was shining all around. 🌄🔥

We are also incredibly proud of the First UMC youth who are serving on summer staff at Mount Shepherd this year! They aren’t just talking about being the light, they are living it out by leading campers, building relationships, sharing God’s love, and creating the same kind of unforgettable camp moments that shaped them.

Gathering around the campfire together as a church family reminded us that God’s light grows brighter when we share it. Through songs, prayers, laughter, and stories, we experienced the gift of a community centered in Christ.

We are thankful for every camper, summer staff member, volunteer, parent, and church family member who helped make this week so special. The light we found on the mountain doesn’t stay there. We carry it with us into our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.

First UMC, keep shining. ✨

Join Mount Shepherd Retreat Center for the final two campfires of the summer at 7:45 pm. Next Thursday July 16, Pastor Randy will be leading communion and the following week JJ will be one of the Pastor’s of the week along with more of our children who will be attending camp!
