They completed a full main floor remodel in just eight weeks - on time, on budget, with exceptional craftsmanship, and communication that never stopped. Their online portal with daily photos and updates was incredibly comforting, especially when we were out of town.

But what truly sets them apart is their people. Every team member, including their subcontractors, was kind, honest, hardworking, and genuinely invested in doing things right. I recommend Fork River Construction without a moment of hesitation.

We live in a 1990s home with the typical chopped up layout: formal living and dining rooms we rarely used, and a family room and kitchen that felt disconnected and cramped. Our dream was an open, airy space that highlighted our mountain views and made entertaining easier. With load bearing walls everywhere (plus a staircase and powder room in the center of the house), we assumed it wasn’t possible and/or not affordable.

After interviewing six highly reviewed contractors, we were tired and resigned to settling for a less than perfect improvement by enclosing part of our deck. Then we met Fork River’s owners, Zack and Michael.

After walking the house and taking measurements, they asked if we were open to a different idea. Days later, they showed us a plan that made our dream home suddenly feel possible. They worked closely with us on design, offered smart suggestions that added value and saved money, and treated our home like it was their own.

We stayed in the house during construction, and the team made it surprisingly manageable. They installed plastic barriers with zippered doors and used vacuum systems to pull dust out. Our project manager, Gabe, is amazing and so helpful and upbeat. The foreman, Martin, is phenomenal. Lori, their in-house designer, has fantastic ideas. And even their specialized subcontractors; electricians, plumbers, HVAC, and countertop specialists, are outstanding. I’ve seen many friends’ construction projects stall while waiting for weeks on subs. Our project never stalled. We received a timeline, and they stuck to it, even when the usual 1990s house surprises popped up.

And here’s the amazing part, for about the same cost as the bids for our original, much smaller idea, we now have our dream home.

• Under-step safety lighting for our two step downs (a favorite feature for guests… especially my mom)
• A professional cleaning team who deep cleaned every room in our house after construction
