Aloha Hilo! We often get the question “How do I know when my roof just needs a repair, versus when it needs to be fully replaced?”

Let’s tackle that. There’s a few things to consider: The age of your roof, the type of roof you have, how long you plan to live in the home, and the problems you’re dealing with.

Age: If your roof is over 15 to 20 years old, though you might not necessarily need to get it replaced, that is oftentimes the lifetime for lower-end shingles. Around this time, it’s best to have a local roofing company take a look to see if it’s time to get things repaired or replaced.
