“Nuku O Nu’uanu”
This song was penned by “Hawai’i’s Song Bird,” Lena Machado and celebrates the “Nuku O Nu’uanu,” commonly recognized as the Nu’uanu Pali Lookout. From her vantage point, she offers a stunning perspective of the Ko’olau side of the island of O’ahu where our hālau hula is located. The mountains are graced with a cool and misty rain and Mōkapu is clearly seen lying there in the distance.

“Ka Ipu Pala ʻOle”
We all know someone who is “all talk, no walk.” This mele hakukole, composed by Chad Takatsugi, Shines a spotlight on those who always overpromise.... yet always underwhelm, presenting a facade of skill, attractiveness, and integrity, but ultimately end up being a disappointment. It doesn’t matter how pretty the package looks or sounds when nothing inside is of any value. Auē lā ē!
