Next Tuesday, we will reveal our adopted nest, #89, and begin following its journey together all season long.

How many eggs? Will it hatch? How many babies will emerge? What surprises will Mother Nature have in store?

🐢☀️ It’s Turtle Tuesday ☀️🐢

Summer is officially kicking off on Hilton Head Island, which also means sea turtle nesting season is underway🌊

Our beaches are more than just beautiful places to relax… they’re also important nesting habitats for these incredible animals and their hatchlings. Small actions from all of us can make a BIG difference. 💚

Here are a few simple ways we can all help to protect sea turtles this summer:

🏖️ Fill in holes before leaving the beach
🏖️ Flatten sandcastles at the end of the day
🏖️ Remove chairs, tents and toys overnight
🌙 Keep beachfront facing lights off after 10pm
🐢 Give turtles and marked nests plenty of space

Together, these small actions can help give the next generation of sea turtles a safer journey to the sea 🌊
