Today, on Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, I’m sending compassion to this community and gently sharing the work I do through Vibroacoustic Therapeutic Music (VATM).

Through therapeutic harp music and vibration, sessions are designed to support deep relaxation, calm, and nervous system restoration.

Sometimes healing begins with simply feeling safe enough to exhale.

Very early in the days of my harp therapy experience, I had been sent to the ICU to play for someone who had a severe stroke and was unable to move. His wife had explained that he communicated with her through blinking his eyes. My impression was that he slept throughout the session. Several family members were present, and remarked how they had benefited from the calming music. Before I left the room, the patient was stirred by the nurse as she cared for him. His spouse asked if he had heard the music. He blinked twice for yes, and she wiped tears from his eyes. I played another requested tune for the patient's spouse she said:
“I can't believe how well he responded to that piece!"
