Meet Josh, our People and Culture Associate! 👋

Josh was initially drawn to Community Action House because he wanted to feel like his work was meaningful and that he was making an impact on the community. Josh has been part of the People and Culture team at Action House for ten months, where he supports hiring, onboarding, and staff appreciation. By welcoming new staff and creating opportunities for team members to connect, Josh helps ensure every staff member feels valued and supported.

Outside of work, Josh loves to fly fish, rock climb, play cards, mountain bike, and more! 🎣

He appreciates the open, collaborative culture at Community Action House, where staff genuinely connect and support one another. If Josh had to describe Community Action House in only three words, they would be: support, dignity, and care. 💚

Josh’s work is meaningful to him because he gets to hire the people who work at Action House, and therefore support our mission to build a stronger, healthier community!

After months of exciting progress, our original Community Action House Resale South location on Michigan Avenue is preparing for its Grand Reopening this August—and you can help fill the shelves.

Later this month, we'll reopen to accept donations as we get ready to welcome shoppers back through our doors. Every donated item helps stock the store and fuels Action House programs that nourish, equip, and empower our neighbors.

Help us by donating your gently used clothing, home decor, furniture, and household items starting July 27! Ready to donate before then? Drop off donations at Resale North (650 Riley Street, Holland) or schedule a free pickup for larger items.
