I decided to add a ruffle to the new dress pattern. It does look a bit stiff (that's the Pelon) but it's the right proportion for the dress.

Now, to cut out a sample and see if I can remember how to sew an invisible zip.

Drafting a new dress today, a sleeveless, princess seam with flare.

I start with the card dress block, on medical paper, make changes, then I transfer onto Pellon using their 830 easy pattern. It's perfect for checking the toile before cutting out the fabric.
