As Michigan warms up (Mar-May), bats emerge from hibernation seeking shelter. While vital for eating insects, they can become issues for homeowners.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀:
Bats look for warm, dark spots like attics or walls. In late spring (starting late May/early June), females form maternity colonies in these spaces to raise young.

𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀:

Noise (scratching, squeaking) at night.
Guano (droppings) buildup: causes odor, damages structures, and carries Histoplasmosis risk (lung infection from fungus).
Bats can carry rabies (rare risk).

Bats are protected in Michigan!
