Eugenia rhombea Red Stopper
Highly ornamental shrubby tree! Suitable for any landscaping use: carefully trimmed vegetational barrier; understory screening element; courtyard specimen.
According to the Champion Tree National Register – as reported to American Forests, the National Champion Eugenia rhombea is in Monroe County. It is only 26 feet tall, with a crown spread of 9’. That is the biggest one in the United States!
This is firm evidence that the red stopper will never outgrow the confines of the space that you provide for it. With minimal pruning, you can keep it at 6’ or so........

Brya ebenus Jamaican Raintree
Here is a columnar-shaped small/medium tree of the pea family that will add a startling splash of color to your plant layout. When the atmospheric pressure drops (most often in the rainy season, but can occur anytime throughout the year), voluptuously ample bouquets of golden flowers burst forth.
A product of grassy shrublands in the Greater Antilles, it is an excellent choice for hot locations in full sun.
Most members of the pea family have root nodules inhabited by bacteria with the ability to take nitrogen gas from the atmosphere and convert it to utilizable forms that allow the plant to produce new tissue. Talk about self-sustaining! Imagine if we humans could do that! Or maybe some people already have chloroplasts for photosynthesis and nodules to fix nitrogen and we just don’t know about it. You would never see them buying food at the supermarket, would you?

Miami’s Premier Collection of Native Plants
Native Tree Nursery comprises over 230 acres of field (marl) grown material and 25 acres of container material. Field grown trees and shrubs are grown to Fla. #1 and Fla. Fancy specifications. With over 30 years of experience, we are able to achieve superior quality, efficient service and a wide range of varieties to choose from.
By starting with our own propagation facility, we are able to ensure top quality stock from the roots up. Our trees not only look good on top, but they are also structurally sound where you can't see them. Our plants are started in air prune containers, which promote a superior, healthy root system from the first stages of propagation. From this process, the plants are potted, staked and pruned according to each varieties needs with the goal of producing a top quality plant. Our field grown trees are carefully staked and pruned to provide a clean stem, central leader, well-developed branch structure and heavy caliper. Field grown trees ready for sale are vigorously root pruned and bagged in the ground to retain the complete root system resulting in excellent transplant performance.
From Florida natives to palms, to flowering trees, coastal salt tolerant to freshwater wetlands, we are constantly developing growing techniques and adding superior species and varieties to our available palette.
