We did this everyday for two years so far and greatly reduced the need to use a ton of bleach or scrubbing for cleaning our shower.
It also helps to turn of the vent if you have one or open the windows/doors so that the bathroom can air out properly.
However, the best advice will always be to remove as much moisture as possible after each shower to reduce the chance of mold growth as they thrive in wet environments.
