When we adopted the first 17 caterpillars in December of last year, we had NOOOOO idea that Love's Kaleidoscole would grow to the point where we are right now.

We've released more butterflies than we could keep count of 1700+...

We've made some connections with some of the sweetest people in the world...

We've been able to release monarchs and wishes on Maui and O'ahu...

We've been able to hire "Nana" or Aunty Kehau to help doula even more monarchs than I could do on my own...

Thanks to the interwebs, we discovered this interesting fact: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Inside of the chrysalis, the caterpillar completely disintegrates and becomes a liquidy goo! HUH? 😳⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yep, once the 2-week old caterpillar pupates, it releases enzymes that digests itself from the inside out. 😱😱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

After it completely breaks down its own body, it will regrow it's organs, legs, antennae, and other parts to become a fully formed butterfly. Holy moly and this happens in just 10 short days 💥 poof!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Now we're beginning to think that flying isn't the hard part; maybe it's letting go and being completely dissolved, so that you can build your wings for the next phase...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
