🐱 Here comes good luck! Our Plaza Voyages to Japan met the Maneki-neko
Residents learned all about the famous “beckoning cat” — the cheerful figure with one raised paw, believed to wave good fortune and prosperity toward all who see it. Then everyone colored a lucky cat of their very own, each one bursting with personality (and a little extra luck!).
May all this good fortune find its way to our wonderful ʻohana. 💛

COME ON DOWN! 🎉 It was game day at The Plaza at Kāneʻohe — and our friends brought their A-game to a rousing round of The Price is Right!
From the price of a "Home Sweet Home" to a humble bag of chips, every card on the table sparked a lively debate. Higher? Lower? There were bold bids, wild guesses, and a whole lot of laughter along the way. 💰

A couple days ago it was a "shell-ebration" for National Turtle Day at The Plaza at Kāneʻohe! 🐢🌺
Our friends spent the afternoon coloring their very own honu — every shell a swirl of color and patience, no two alike. There's something wonderfully calming about slowing down with a handful of crayons and good company.
In Hawaiʻi, the honu is a symbol of good luck, peace, and a long, steady life — and our kupuna brought theirs to life with the brightest of smiles.

🧺 Nā Mea Lauhala — the beautiful art of weaving! 🌿
Our Plaza Voyages continued with a special presentation by Ella and her mother Lorna, a beloved Waikiki resident, who taught us about the many uses of lauhala. From weaving mats and hats to creating baskets and other practical items, residents gained a deeper appreciation for this important cultural tradition — and the craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.
Mahalo, Ella and Lorna, for sharing your beautiful work and your manaʻo with us! 🤎
