February is Hawaiian Language Month, and in recognition of its significance, we are honored to highlight our company motto: “Nānā i mua, nānā i hope.”

In ‘ōlelo Hawai’i, mua signifies the past, while hope points to the future. Traditionally, Hawaiians orient themselves by facing the past — drawing wisdom, guidance, and understanding from what has come before — while the future remains behind them, to be shaped with intention through actions rooted in history.

As we take this time to honor ‘ōlelo Hawai’i, we are reminded that true progress comes from grounding our actions in the knowledge and lessons of those who came before us.
