Emerald
A 3-shot pano from McWay Falls in Big Sur, California..

Despite seeing this photo a thousand times on Instagram, I was very happy with seeing McWay Falls for the first time on my recent road trip up the California coast. The main trailhead was closed due to the virus but I set up my shot from an overlook off PCH. I used a ND filter to be able to shoot a long exposure (water movement). I also used a circular polarizer to remove the reflections and glare on the water surface. Because of this, you can see the richer emerald tones in the bay.

World Photography Day 2019
It's now been 7 years since I started taking photos and it honestly feels like yesterday when I'd take my mom's phone to shoot sunset photos. I'm really happy to be able to continue to do what I enjoy and can't thank you enough for all of it. Anyways, here are some notable photos from each year.
-
10/11/12. Torrance, CA
The photo that started it all. Still one of my favorites today.
-
11/22/13. Palos Verdes, CA
2013 was a year of only shooting sunsets.
-
12/25/14. Palos Verdes, CA
I fell in love with blue hour photos after this day.
-
1/10/15. Redondo Beach, CA
Started thinking about composition and balance in my photos.
-
10/4/16. Torrance, CA
This one's special to me since this man is the reason why I still surf today. Thank you for teaching me how to surf and helping me grow !
-
11/18/17. Manhattan Beach, CA
This is the year I started taking my photography more seriously as art, rather than just snapshots.
-
10/12/18. Palos Verdes, CA.
My first successful lightning shoot. In 2015, I tried photographing lightning but failed. Last year, I succeeded. The 3 year wait was worth it.
-
5/31/19. Death Valley, CA.
This year my goal is to start shooting photos that tell a story and convey emotion. Pretty difficult, but I'll try..
-
And yeah, that's all of it. Thank you for a great 7 years and many more to come!
