Language Learning & Technology Welcomes New Editors-in-Chief

The Executive Board of Language Learning & Technology (LLT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Crosthwaite, Yu-Ju Lan, and Qing Ma as the journal's new Editors-in-Chief, effective September 1, 2026.

As LLT begins this new chapter, the Executive Board wishes to extend its sincere appreciation to the outgoing Editors-in-Chief, Hayo Reinders and Lara Lomicka Anderson, for their outstanding service to the journal. Their contributions have strengthened LLT's reputation, leaving the journal exceptionally well positioned for continued growth.

This editorial transition coincides with a new partnership between LLT and the University of Hawai‘i Press, which will provide additional publishing infrastructure, expanded dissemination capacity, and support for the journal’s preservation and sustainability. Importantly, LLT will remain a diamond open-access publication, continuing to make its content freely available to readers and authors without article processing charges.

REMINDER: Envisioning PBLL course registration closes May 31. Register today!

Envisioning Project-Based Language Learning (PBLL) is a 5-module open-enrollment self-study course for language educators beginning to learn about Project-Based Language Learning (PBLL), offered by the National Foreign Language Resource Center. Successful learners will be able to describe essential features of high quality PBLL and to generate high-quality ideas for projects using the Product Square. A digital badge is available for candidates fulfilling course requirements.

Registration and the content for this MOOC (massive open online course) are FREE.
