More than a competition, Hoover Iron Chef Student Stars brings together students, chefs, educators, and community leaders to celebrate the future of the culinary and hospitality industries.

Through partnerships with Jefferson State Culinary & Hospitality Institute and Riverchase Career Connection Center - RC3 , students gain valuable hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and exposure to real-world career opportunities.

⭐ Chef Spotlight: Brian Mooney ⭐

Meet Chef Brian Mooney, owner and executive chef of Tre Luna Bar and Kitchen and Tre Luna Catering.

Brian's culinary journey began in South Florida, where he attended culinary school while his wife, Erin, built her own career in the food service industry. Together, they shared a dream of creating a business centered around great food, hospitality, and family.

Following the success of Tre Luna Catering, Brian and Erin opened Tre Luna Bar and Kitchen in 2019. The restaurant features an Italian-inspired menu designed for everything from casual weeknight dinners to special celebrations. The name "Tre Luna" honors the Mooneys' three children—their "Three Moons"—and reflects the family-centered values that are at the heart of everything they do.

For Brian and his team, hospitality goes beyond serving great food. Their commitment to integrity, creativity, professionalism, and exceptional customer service has helped establish Tre Luna as a favorite dining destination and catering partner throughout the community.
