Compass Education
A global educator-led NPO, empowers learning communities to educate & act for a sustainable future.
Sustainability is strongest when it becomes part of how a school thinks, learns, and operates. 🌍
The Compass Education School Sustainability Self-Assessment is a free, practical tool that helps schools reflect on their sustainability journey across Nature, Economy, Society, and Wellbeing.
In just a few minutes, schools can identify areas of strength, recognize opportunities for growth, and gain a clearer picture of where to focus their next steps—individually or as a team.

A compass helps us find our way. The Sustainability Compass helps learners explore the many connections behind the issues and experiences that shape our communities.
In this example, students use the four Compass perspectives—Nature, Economy, Society, and Wellbeing—to ask a simple question: What factors contribute to successful community festivals?
As ideas emerge, so do the connections between them. Conversations can include everything from local food, gardening, and waste reduction to budgets, volunteers, schools, families, and community participation. Looking at a topic from different perspectives helps reveal how each part influences the others.
It's a simple activity, but one that encourages curiosity, systems thinking, and a deeper understanding of how communities can grow stronger together.
