March 10, 2020 my wife and I chose to rehabilitate a landmark. We have dedicated our time and finances to this task and faced challenges from the local jurisdiction in pulling the necessary permit to perform the work. Our last attempt sat “under review” and was only moved ahead after a phone call-still lacking approval for the basic needs this 1880 house needed.

The images include the morning of the fire while I climbed onto the roof looking for recent wind damage , our burned out home , our full set of building plans and the second applied for permit. Zooming in you can see the roofing package/materials in front of the home waiting to be installed

It’s inexcusable the lack of attention this received at the local level. If the local municipality’s won’t renovate the historic properties then allow the citizens to do the work and not put up hindrances.

Nice little Azek deck we completed a few months ago on Lake LBJ in HSB.

Got to make the deck die into the granite in one of the pictures.
