Johan Cruyff, when asked about his training methods in the Spanish press.

At the time, rondos and tight positional practices built around 4v4 + 3 were not nearly as common as they are today. Cruyff explained that in smaller spaces, players are forced to make quicker decisions and execute with cleaner technique under pressure.

His belief was simple: if you can think and play in tight spaces, the game becomes easier in bigger ones.

That idea helped shape the modern game and remains one of the clearest principles in player development today. Train in chaos, solve problems in pressure, and the bigger picture opens up on match day.
