♻️ TerraCycle Recycling Bags

TerraCycle offers specialty recycling bags designed for hard-to-recycle waste (beauty packaging, snack wrappers, coffee capsules, etc.).

💰 Pricing Structure (Typical Range)
• Small bags: $15
• Larger capacity bags: increase in price but significantly lower cost per pound $25-$35
• Shipping is free for customers.
• Once full, you set the bag out for easy and responsible ♻️recycling. We do the work 💪

📊 Cost Efficiency Example

If a household fills one bag giant over 1-3 months:
• The cost spread monthly becomes manageable
• Cost per pound decreases with larger bags
• Sharing a bag between a family or small business significantly reduces per-person cost

For homes that consume higher volumes of packaged goods or beauty products, this diverts material that would otherwise go directly to landfill — without relying on curbside programs that won’t accept these items

🌱 Happy Earth Compost

Happy Earth Compost provides residential compost pickup with tiered pricing options based on:
• Weekly vs. biweekly service vs. monthly
• farmers market drop offs
• Add-ons like finished compost return fo FREE

📊 Why This Matters

The average household’s waste stream is ~30–40% organic material. Composting immediately reduces trash volume and landfill methane production.

💰 Cost Breakdown

When divided monthly:
• Weekly pickup typically averages the cost of a few coffees per week
• Biweekly service lowers cost further
• No equipment purchase required
• No backyard setup

We provide a sealed container.
No odor.
No bugs.
No mess.
The bin is swapped at pickup — so there’s no buildup sitting at your house.

🏡 The Combined Impact

When you combine:
✔️ Compost pickup
✔️ Hard-to-recycle collection

You can realistically reduce household landfill waste by over half — without “trying harder.”

No rinsing and memorizing municipal recycling rules.
No DIY compost piles.
No sustainability guilt.

Just systems.

💚 Sustainability becomes cost-effective when it’s structured.
And structured systems make it effortless.

If you want your household to be environmentally responsible without lifestyle strain — this is the model that works.

Our zero waste ♻️ breakfast🥓 🧇 reality check: not everything was made from scratch this morning — and that’s OK.

We used a few store-bought favorites from and and still created a zero-waste breakfast.

🍓 Whole strawberries → composted
🥞 Cardboard waffle boxes → traditional recycling
♻️ Plastic bags + tops → saved for our collection pile

Nothing wasted. Nothing complicated. Just small systems that make a big impact.

Zero waste doesn’t mean perfect. It means paying attention, using what you have, and making the next right choice — even on busy mornings.

Simple swaps. Real life. Big difference. 🌎✨

Composting at home with Happy Earth is hands down the most ick-free, easiest “green” decision we’ve ever made. 🌎✨

No smell.
No bugs.
No gross science experiment happening on the counter. 🙃🚫🪰

Just a simple swap that makes a real impact. ♻️💚

The best part? The kids are completely into it. 👏🏼 They scrape their plates, they ask what can go in the bin, they understand that food doesn’t just “disappear.” It goes back to the earth. 🌱🍎

Kids are so impressionable. When you make sustainable habits normal (and easy), they don’t see it as a sacrifice — it’s just what we do. 🤍

It feels good without being inconvenient.
It’s responsible without being overwhelming.
It’s green without being gross. 🌿

And honestly? That’s the sweet spot. ✨

If you’ve wanted to do better but didn’t want the mess… this is it. 💫🌎💚

🌎 Reintroducing the Family Behind Happy Earth Compost-The Stowers Family

We haven’t done one of these since 2020… and a lot has changed.

In 2020, during COVID, my husband, Rice-educated economist, decided we were being way too wasteful. So naturally… we tried composting in our backyard.

It was a disaster. 😅 Like grossness an marital feuds over fruit flies and yuckiness 🤷🏻🙅🏼‍♀️

After researching residential compost pickup services in Houston and finding very few options at the time, he decided to start one himself.

He launched Happy Earth out of our home, running deliveries, washing bins, answering emails, and doing everything solo. 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼

Today:
• 2,000 residential customers
• 200 business participants
• 9 full-time employees
• Still family-owned and operated 💚💙💚

And somehow… still us.

At home, life is full.

We now have:
• A 14-year-old who loves baseball ( he will be a freshman next year 😬)
• An 11-year-old who plays soccer ⚽️ and travels the world playing
• A 9-year-old who loves softball and volleyball
• 2 dogs
• 2 guinea pigs
• A turtle
• And a short-lived chicken era (our HOA had other plans 🐔😅)

Most of our days are spent working during the day-I am a full time Physician Assistant and Jesse is still a full time economist.

And in the afternoon and weekends we are shuttling everyone to wherever they need to be. Total parent life.

Life is busy, loud, and full — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We wouldn’t call ourselves the most “granola” family.

But the older we get, the more we’ve realized how delicate the system is. How interconnected it all is. How much responsibility we have to teach our kids to respect the earth they’re growing up in.

Our favorite kind of family time?
Somewhere with good weather, fishing 🎣, long hikes, big views 🏔️ — the kind of places that make you feel small in the best way. 🤗

That’s really what this business has always been about.

Raising good humans.❤️
Building something meaningful.❤️
Leaving the soil better than we found it.❤️

Thanks for being here — whether you joined us in 2020 or just recently. We’re grateful for this community. 🌱
