Yesterday, the handsome Keke-man dropped me in front of the hospital where my grandmother was admitted.

I paid him his fare and when he reached to give me my change, I asked him to keep it for himself.

He smiled and said my heart is as good as my face.

Clutching the package of rice and fried chicken I had gotten from Crunchies Fried Chicken Limited, I entered the hospital and began to climb its stairs to the last floor.

When I got to my grandmother's room, I was shocked to see my whole family (extended and nuclear) weeping in front of it.

Even my Dad whom I have never seen shed tears was crying, too. All my paternal uncles, aunts and cousins were crying.

They said they received the news of my grandmother's death from my older cousin barely an hour ago.

They said they've seen her body and can't bear to look at it continuously, hence they came out to cry at the corridor.

Grief-stricken, I walked into the room alone, to see my grandmother who was now covered with an old wrapper.

I looked at her, and tears rolled down my face. I've always loved her.

After that, I walked behind the bed where her body laid and unplugged my phone that I had plugged there an hour before I left to buy the delicious rice, then I replugged the life support still attached to her vitals.

Immediately, my grandmother sneezed and croaked, 'Umu'm.'

My family who heard her rushed into the room to meet us. Joyfully, they hailed me and said God used me to miraculously resurrect her.

Standing there, I don't know how to tell them that I mistakenly unplugged Grandmother's life support just to charge my phone.
