For the Ancestors. The ones whose were stolen from their lands, from their mothers, from their identities, from their families. For the youth who have been distanced from their heritage, their lands and their cultures. Sankofa. A principle important for us all. Especially my generation moving forward. We are the new Ancestors.. what are we building?… what will be our piece of history?… We give thanks for freedom, for love, for joy, and for peace when we may enjoy it. Happy Juneteenth.
