As you know: The first number we see at the left of the decimal or slash on a hair color tube or carton, tells us the LEVEL of the color product inside the container. And, the following number (or numbers) to the right of the decimal or slash, tell us the tone(s) of the product inside.

Again, this tells us precisely about the product inside the tube. These numbers DO NOT MEAN that applying this product to any hair will make that hair turn into the color of the name on the color container. NO! Hair color is not nail polish or wall paint!

NOTE: Let's talk about a shade, level 4. Level 4 is Light brown. There're two times when application of a level 4 hair color will create a level four:

* When the color is applied to pure white, virgin, (gray) hair
* When the color is applied to virgin level 4 (light brown) hair.... Color seeks its level
