Renewable Natural Gas or RNG, also known as biomethane, is produced from organic waste sources like landfills, wastewater treatment plants, and agricultural residues. It has the same chemical composition as natural gas extracted from fossil fuel sources but is considered renewable because it comes from organic materials.

Natural gas has a wide range of uses, including electricity generation, heating buildings and water, cooking, and fueling vehicles. It's also used as a feedstock for the production of chemicals, fertilizers, and other industrial products.

Natural gas can be cooled to extremely low temperatures to convert it into a liquid form known as liquefied natural gas (LNG). LNG takes up significantly less volume than natural gas in its gaseous state, making it easier to transport and store for long distances.
