Today we honor and in doing so we worked with artist Kameron White to create a piece of art that represents the resilience and diversity of indigenous peoples. Here's what Kameron had to say about today...

"Indigenous People's day for me is a day to have a conversation that can educate others about us that history books fail to do. For so long, Indigenous people have endured and struggled in the fight for our land, rights, and survival. Rather than honoring colonizers and settlers who have inflicted pain onto Indigenous communities, today, we should acknowledge, recognize, and honor Indigenous People's survival, contributions, and efforts from the past to today.

Today, like every day, I would like to shout the constant reminder that we are here and you can not erase us. We are not a monolith; we are diverse! We have different skin tones, have different languages with various dialects, different cultures, traditions, art, crafts, music, different backgrounds, and the list goes on! We're still here and doing amazing things. For Indigenous People's Day, I ask that non-Indigenous people educate themselves, their friends, and their families, on our achievements and our history. Support Indigenous People's rights and our movements! Thank you!"
