The National Arab Orchestra Houston Program

The National Arab Orchestra (NAO) is a Michigan based 501(C)3 non-profit organization established in 2009. The NAO is a nonprofit institution registered in Michigan in 2009 committed to preserving and integrating Arab culture through music education and performance. Orchestra members are musicians from both Arab and non-Arab backgrounds across the country. NAO has performed in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Flint, Jacksonville, Miami, and San Antonio.

The NAO Houston Program will include: 1- A symposium at the University of Houston on Arab Music by Prof. Andrea Shaheen of UT El Paso; 2- A Children chorus; 3- Abeer Nehmeh, an internationally acclaimed soloist of Arabic classical music, and 4- Pre-conference synopsis.
