I tried to train some legs today and just ended up thinking about my dad and crying in between.

It’s been 7 days since he went to heaven, no one gives you a manual on how to handle the loss of an amazing dad.

My dad was always so proud of me, he even said it that last week, so I can’t let him down by letting my grief take me down to a bad place, so each workout, and each thing I do, I’m doing for my dad. One day at a time 💕…

2023 is ending & I don’t have a multitude of deep thoughts, but I do have a few, if you’d care to listen ❤️. Some things I’m reflecting on as I end this year, and spend time with my family during this difficult time with my dear dad very sick.

☑️ take time to spend time with family & friends, it’ll never feel like enough if you lose that chance.

☑️ gradually step away from people who don’t share your desire for growth & evolution. No matter how old you are, change & growth is good. (It’s also good for hair styles 😝)

☑️ be thankful for the health you have & how far your body has taken you. If you need to improve, get at it this year, don’t delay! If you have injuries or illness, take steps to be as healthy as you can. You’ll wish you had later if you delay!

☑️ be good to yourself emotionally. If you’re not doing well & you feel crappy inside, you’ll be no good to those you love. Self care is not just about nails & hair or superficial things, more importantly it’s about making sure your emotions are balanced & you have positive boundaries.

☑️ celebrate every day. I start every day listing 3 things I’m grateful for. It may not take away a crappy situation but it may help me remember that I’m still blessed & have plenty to be grateful for.

☑️ celebrate small happiness! Even a smile from a stranger, a new friend, a kind word. And try to pass it on to someone you run into. As I’ve walked around during this time with my dad ill, just wanting to cry, I sooooo appreciated kindness & patience. I cried all the way on & off on the flight here & the stranger next to me was so kind & caring. Let’s be that way every day in 2024. We don’t know other people’s struggles. ❤️😔

With that, I celebrate all of you, our friendship, our sharing of fitness stories, motivation & inspiration! I will be back for more in 2024!

Peace to all of you…& in the meantime celebrate & 💕.
