The price of real estate in the whole country is growing way too fast, like 40% in the past 3 years, outpacing income, which is 2% a year, similar to what happened in 2006/2007, check this houston map and overlap it with a zillow map and you will see that in middle class, blue-collar neighborhoods properties are selling for 300k - 400K, that's a $2500 mortgage payment, for a family with a household income of 67K, just mortgage, think about all the expenses a family with children has; inflation pocketing 8% of their income, then average people has very poor money management skills; somebody wants to shed some light about the qualification guidelines for a 30 yr moartgage, the other day i fill up the zillow app out of curiosity, an agent called me and told me i may qualify for 100% financing plus down payment "assistance" i was gonna ask for a trip to bahamas also; i get the feeling we are looking for a massive correction here.
