Operation Safe Shield - Gulf Coast Chapter

Today, I filed my first bill, HB 2217, to establish a grant program that equips law enforcement vehicles with life-saving, bullet-resistant components including reinforced windshields and door panels.

Our brave peace officers put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities. This legislation is a step toward ensuring they have the protection they deserve while serving and safeguarding us all.

A huge thank you to Operation Safe Shield, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening officer safety. Since its founding in 2021, they’ve helped equip 140 patrol vehicles across the seven counties of the Brazos Valley with bullet-resistant components—an incredible achievement made possible through community support.

With HB 2217, we aim to expand these protections to even more officers across Texas. Let’s stand together for those who stand for us!
