Jordan High School (HS #9), for Katy ISD, has recently received the award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston as the Top Educational Construction Project. Jordan High School placed first in the "Publicly Funded" category evaluating the project based on safety, quality, ingenuity, and workmanship.
This is the third high school that LEAF has designed for Katy ISD as we work on the design for High School #10 scheduled to begin construction early next year, 2022. The high school is more than 600,000 square feet with 2-three story classroom wings, several learning stairs, movable classroom walls, auditorium, CATE areas, natatorium, and athletic facilities that would rival any small college.
Congratulations to everyone that has worked on this awesome project.

LEAF was awarded two projects for the West Contra Cost Unified School District located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Working with PBK WLC Architects, LEAF will provide new HVAC systems for two campuses, Collins Elementary and The Cameron School. Each of these campuses were originally constructed in 1949 and have only had heat serving the campuses for the last 70 years. These will be challenging projects to get equipment, ductwork and electrical services installed in buildings built in the mid-1900's.
The West Contra Costa USD currently has 54 campuses and serves more than 32,000 students.
The area has a long history of being associated with several national governments. Originally, the area was settled on behalf of Spain in the late 1700's as part of the missions being built along the west coast. In 1821, Mexico gained independence from Spain and the area was under Mexican control. Beginning in 1847, the Bear Flag Revolt marked the beginning of the Mexican-American War and ultimately California became part of the United States. Thus, the County of Contra Costa became one of the original 27 counties when California became the 31st state in 1850.
