Welcome to Destination Rescue, Allie. 💙

With everything that’s happened over the last couple of weeks, we somehow never properly introduced this sweet little girl.

Allie landed on the euthanasia list at BARC on July 1st. She was quiet, reserved, and overwhelmed by the shelter. One of our favorite shelter volunteers reached out before her deadline and said, “If she ends up on the euthanasia list, I can’t let her die. I’ll foster her through heartworm treatment if that’s what it takes.”

When a volunteer who meets hundreds of dogs says that, you listen.

These volunteers know dogs. They meet incredible ones every single day. So when someone feels that strongly about one particular pup, it says a lot.

The answer was an easy yes.

Allie has now settled in and is doing so well. She came to us battling an upper respiratory infection, but she’s feeling much better.

She’s also learning about crate training… although she’d like everyone to know it’s absolutely not her favorite activity. 😂

At just 30ish pounds, Allie is the sweetest little pocket-sized hound mix. She’s gentle, affectionate, and has been an absolute joy.

We can’t wait to finish her vetting, get her through heartworm treatment, and find the forever family she’s been waiting for.
