One of my favorite podcasts to listen to is Steven Bartlett's The Diary Of A CEO. I absolutely loved the episode released on February 10th so much that I listened to it twice! The episode featured Dr. Daniel Amen, psychiatrist and brain disorder specialist.
Dr. Amen mentioned the idea that happiness is a moral obligation because of how you impact other people and that idea really resonated with me. Happiness is an ethical issue. We all have traumas; the emotional scars and consequences are real. When you love yourself you do the work to change the things that you are predisposed to due to your experiences and traumas. Emotional trauma affects your brain.
Here are some of my top takeaways from the episode:
-Happiness is a moral obligation: Our mood profoundly influences those around us, making joy an ethical choice.
-Self-love fuels transformation: Embracing ourselves empowers us to heal from past traumas and reshape our futures.
-Alcohol ages the brain: Even moderate drinking can accelerate brain aging.
-Nurture your brain: Mindfulness, meditation, exercise, nutritious food, positive thinking, and spiritual beliefs all contribute to brain health.
-Loving your job is good for your brain!
The insights shared here were a real game changer for me to take action!! I always say that everything is connected. Life is full of synergy. You may think that one thing in your life has nothing to do with other areas of your life, but it's all connected. One fallen domino can create a domino effect in all areas of your life. Our personal lives and personal wellbeing and our professional lives are very much connected and they affect one another...

I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again: Fitness is about way more than aesthetics and sweating it out....
It starts out as a choice, then evolves into discipline, and then it simply becomes habit! Fitness can be a platform to achieve greatness in ALL aspects of your life: career, spiritual life, personal life, etc.
