The Freedom Tour Family Reunion is coming!!

Join us at the Freedom Tour Family Reunion as our travelers return home and share what they experienced on the Road to Alabama. This is a homecoming, a celebration, and a community report-back all in one.

Expect powerful reflections, student presentations, photos and stories from the trip, and space for families and supporters to see how their love, labor, and contributions showed up in real time on the journey. We’ll lift up elders, sponsors, and partners who helped make the tour possible, and we’ll invite the next generation of families to start envisioning their turn.

Come welcome our travelers home, hear what they learned, and help us carry those lessons forward into the work we do together year-round.

Freedom Tour 2026 is here: The Road to Alabama. For the 31st year, S.H.A.P.E. is taking young people and elders on an intergenerational journey through key Civil Rights landmarks to honor the foot soldiers who changed history.

This year’s tour includes Selma, Montgomery, Tuskegee, Mobile, and Gee’s Bend, with travel taking place July 26–August 1.
