Following a series of recent inertial metrology projects, our team is mobilizing for another campaign in Nigeria.

The project will utilize Zupt's C-PINS inertial metrology system to conduct a jumper metrology. Accurate subsea positioning is critical when performing metrology, requiring reliable measurements and real-time quality control throughout the campaign.

The compact, single-connection system supports rapid deployment while delivering survey-grade measurements for critical subsea positioning applications.

A monopile doesn't have to be far off position to create a costly problem offshore.

When installation tolerances are tight, even small positioning errors can lead to additional vessel time, rework, and difficult decisions during construction.

That's why accurate positioning and real-time monitoring are fundamental to offshore wind installation campaigns.

Zupt works with offshore wind installation teams to provide the positioning and monitoring data needed during monopile installation, transition piece leveling, and other critical phases of construction.

At Global Offshore Wind 2026, we'll be discussing these challenges and how our technologies support monopile positioning, rate-of-penetration monitoring, and integrated sensor systems.

If you're attending RUKGOW26 in Manchester, let's connect.

Early in developing 3D Recon, we realized high-resolution subsea modeling required more than cameras and navigation systems.

It required acquisition planning tools that could estimate survey coverage before going offshore.

So we built 3D Recon Painter, a planning and simulation tool designed to evaluate subsea survey coverage before acquisition begins.

The concept is simple

Import a CAD or STL model of the structure into the software and simulate the survey before deployment.

The system evaluates coverage based on:

🔸 Planned trajectory
🔸 Line spacing
🔸 Along-track speed
🔸 Vehicle offset from the structure

Before acquisition starts, crews can estimate:

🔸 Coverage quality
🔸 Survey duration
🔸 Expected data volumes

Then offshore, the same system runs live using navigation data streamed directly from the ROV.

As data is collected, the structure transitions from red to green in real time to show where sufficient coverage has been achieved for high-resolution modeling.

The goal is straightforward:
Make subsea reality capture more predictable, repeatable, and operationally scalable.

Tools such as 3D Recon Painter can reduce the need for dedicated survey specialists offshore by giving crews a live visual interface to confirm coverage during acquisition.

Sometimes the biggest improvement in offshore workflows isn’t better sensors.
It’s giving operators better visibility into the data they’re collecting.
