On June 24, President Candis Houston joined Aldine ISD leaders, educators, and public education advocates in Austin to speak before the State Board of Education in opposition to a proposed charter school.

Together, they advocated for investing in the public schools and programs already serving students. Aldine ISD's Hall Success Academy already provides a pathway for students who have dropped out or fallen behind in credits, helping them get back on track toward graduation.

Public education is strongest when we invest in proven solutions and the students in our own communities. Thank you, Candis, for continuing to be a strong voice for educators, students, and public schools across Texas.
