Vertex Math Club

Vertex Math Club Vertex Math Club was established for Kindergarten through 8th Grade students interested in mathematics and eager to learn beyond school curriculum.

Proud to introduce our new Math Instructor- Kim Raath. Kim has B.S. Mathematics, graduated Summa Cum Laude as a Div. Currently, she is
PhD Student in Statistics and M.A. Student in Economics at Rice University.
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow (NSF-GRFP).

“ After undergraduate, I joined the team at Rice 360° an NGO at Rice University. In my position at the organization, I was primarily responsible for conducting statistical analysis, spearheading the largest annual national undergraduate event, and building international relations.
Additionally, I helped create a scholar's program and a new freshman project-based course focused on the advancement of students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). My primary responsibilities for these projects included mentorship and academic guidance. Concurrently, I tutored elementary school mathematics and volunteered at the Odyssey of the Mind regional competition which is an international education program that teaches students from kindergarten through college how to think divergently.
I am passionate about teaching mathematics and I believe this program allows children the opportunity to build a stable foundation in a language that is universal. “
