Baby, it’s HOT 🥵 outside! Please protect your pets and their paws during this HOT spell. Walk the early in the morning, or after the sun goes down. If it’s too hot for YOUR feet, imagine how it feels for them. Stay hydrated and provide plenty of water and shade, too. We 💜 our four-legged family members 😎🐾💜🐾

Where Are They Now? Rescue Edition:

Mavis came to BARC as a sweet pup who had been abandoned, suffering from severe demodex mange covering her face and body. In pain and in need of serious medical care, her future was uncertain.

But that is not where her story ends.

In September 2025, Mavis was rescued by Forgotten Coast Animal Rescue, one of more than 150 rescue partners that work alongside BARC to give animals like Mavis a second chance. Through their dedicated foster-based care, Mavis received the time, treatment, and love she needed to heal. Today, Mavis is completely healed and living her best life with an amazing family in Massachusetts. 💜

Mavis’s transformation is only possible because of strong rescue partnerships and the generosity of donors who make lifesaving transfers possible. A heartfelt thank you to Forgotten Coast Animal Rescue and our supporters for giving Mavis the chance she deserved!
