Let me introduce the young banyan tree that will be our centerpiece on Saturday! Lovingly cared for by the Bhakti Farm, it will be placed in the center of the Earthdance meadow and mindfully decorated with our origami prayers throughout the evening.
The banyan or bodhi tree is highly symbolic and venerated and is especially inspiring to me for the unusual way in which it grows, with its roots reaching down from its branches and then taking hold in the ground - and spreading, spreading wide (it is sometimes called the "walking tree").
In the same way, let us keep spreading the roots of peace wide across the world, and join the light network cocreated by all Earthdance locations. The Prayer for Peace will resonate around the globe at 7pm sharp (Houston time) on Saturday. Come, let's pray and dance around the banyan tree!

Breaking news!!! Max from Origami Houston! will be at EarthDance and teach us how to make paper flowers, leaves, hearts, birds and what not to hang on the centerpiece Tree of Peace. Come learn a thing or two and co-create Peace with us!
