Loser, I hardly know her.
A photo installation by Lily ZW curated by Brittainy Lauback

Following in the Notsuoh tradition of giving offspring art shows & strange, creative opportunities— such as the legendary photography exhibition by the young Lexie, curated by the Art Guys in “Mopsuoh” the Notsuoh mop closet art gallery— the 30th Anniversary celebration hosted a photography show by 16 year old Lily Zambrano-Wallace — child of 2 former Notsuoh bartenders.

With curatorial guidance from photographer Brittainy Lauback (professor of photography at San Jacinto College) — Lily has put together a show of photography taken with her mom’s old digital camera that she started bringing to her high school classes when phones became illegal to use during school hours in Texas. She began taking photos on walks through her neighborhood as well, capturing amusing & magic moments that turned up on her path — together this collection of her images become a humorous & heartfelt glimpse into her quirky & youthful perspective. During the opening the guests were invited to rate & leave comments.

Come see through the lens of Lily— on view alongside the new photography show America @ 250 opening this Saturday featuring work from some of Houston’s long time favorite photographers as well as in the Mezzanine bar.

You can follow Lily’s art on her new instagram account

Thanks to for some of these photos!

Additionally, Lily was not allowed to attend her show because she is too young — because Notsuoh is 21+ & very strict about checking IDs. So if you’re coming here, don’t forget your ID — and no, photocopies will not suffice & security does not care if you are with the band. In fact if you say that, they just might ban the band.

A little glimpse of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new mural on the patio that was finished this past week as part of the Notsuoh 30th Anniversary festivities & in memory of artist Michael Galbreth. Jim’s dear friend & chess partner of 27 years.

Many thanks to .signs & for their heartfelt contribution to the building.
