This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. I never wanted to rehome my dogs, and if my circumstances were different, I absolutely wouldn’t. Unfortunately, my mother has suddenly become very ill and has been diagnosed with both brain cancer and lung cancer. She recently underwent brain surgery, and I need to relocate to help care for her during her recovery and treatment.
Because of this sudden and overwhelming situation, I’m unable to take my dogs with me. This decision is not due to a lack of love or commitment—they are deeply loved and have always been part of my family. My priority is making sure they are safe, cared for, and placed in the best possible homes where they can continue to thrive.
I’m hoping to find responsible, understanding individuals who can give them the stability, attention, and love they deserve during this difficult time.

JANE 💕 eu deadline FRI 10/3

We can only imagine interested parties get JANE’s notes and then are scared away (or she would be long gone!).

She has an intake bite note and a playgroup correction that the other dog did not take well.

But, don’t be scared! Just prepared…

Dalmatians are a specific, guard breed. DLB data manager @knitwhiskers2.0 is on her 4th Dal of life and has this advice in response to Jane’s footage and notes:

“Her body language with you IS* ‘loose & wiggly’ for a Dalmatian.

For her intake note - she did what she was bred to do. Bite was considered minor, rated 2 out of 6. “Victim was walking toward the back of business. Victim did not see dog and dog ran at victim. Victim fell down and dog latched on inner thigh.” I would say that she is an excellent guard dog.

Beautiful notes from medical - calm, easy to handle. She is likely no threat in the right home. Dalmatians will protect their family from everyone who is not their family. Meaning they will protect kids from their friends visiting or anyone you bring in your home.

Safe practice is to kennel or remove to a secure location when you have visitors. Strict rules about no introductions is critical for a happy, successful life with Jane or really any Dal.”

JANE spent time in the yard with a few DAS volunteers and they dropped footage in the comments on JANE’s D90 MVPs Facebook post.

If you are interested in JANE, please know Dals or be prepared to learn so you are all set up for success! She will make a wonderful companion in the right home.
