BASS-DRUM, Israeli composer HADAS GOLDSCHMIDT-HALFON’s duet for double bass and percussion, is influenced by African drumming and improvisation. The percussion part is written primarily for a variety of hand drums, including a pitched African drum (we are using roto-toms), and the performers are given the opportunity to personalize and shape the work through several passages that require improvisation.
