Houston Case Managers

Over the weekend the Texans had me doing lots of scoreboard watching.

They were not only able to get into the playoffs but they were also rewarded with a home game next Saturday which will be huge.

Because they had a similar record to 3 other teams they needed a number of scenarios to go their way to get this playoff game against Cleveland.

Starting with:

- Beating the Colts.

- Then the Titans needed to beat the Jaguars. Which they did.

- However, if the Jaguars had beaten the Titans, the Texans would’ve played an away game at Kansas City, Buffalo, or Miami.

I won’t nerd out on you with all the different scenarios though.

The point I’m getting at is the Texans had a unique situation that could have resulted in several different outcomes. You couldn’t simply explain their playoff outlook in one sentence.

It was nuanced.

This is the same situation Medicare beneficiaries and those turning 65 face every day…

A nuanced situation, that is unique, that can result in several different outcomes.

You can’t sum up which plan is best for someone on Medicare in one sentence either.

To know what plan or action is best, factors like these matter:

- Whether you are working past 65?
- If that employer insurance is considered “credible”?
- Are you on a tight budget?
- Do you have any chronic conditions that may make it hard to pass medical underwriting?

These factors (and more) are important, so I DO nerd out when talking to clients about their specific situations regarding Medicare plans.

At first glance, this seems like a lot.

And it is...

But simply knowing where to focus your attention will do wonders for any anxiety you feel about making a Medicare selection. I can help with that.
