SEARCH UPDATE!

On October 23, we were notified that a body that matched the description of Charlene Wilber was located and was being sent to the medical examiner to be positively identified. Six days later, the medical examiner was able to positively identify that the remains were Charlene's.

Unlike the media, we at Geaux Rescue wait until we know that ALL family members have been notified and the family representative gives us permission to make a post. Any comments or news articles are removed out of respect to the family.

The search efforts in North Carolina are still ongoing by various organizations and individuals.

Our condolences go out to Charlene and Russel's friends and family.

Just a little bit of what we are dealing with. This camper was about 15-20 foot up in a tree. We are on day 4 searching for Mr. & Mrs. Wilber. We will have an update soon!

‼️FAMILY IN NEED HIGHLIGHT‼️

Latorie of Statesboro, GA is a single mother of four and young grandmother of one (all of which live with her). She worked as a caregiver for many years. This year she graduated with her CDL and had just started driving for a trucking company within the last few months. A few weeks prior to the storm she paid her mobile home off and was waiting on her next check to add insurance to her home. At the point of the storm she had no insurance and the home is now a total loss.
