Moosehead Pools

Ahead of the upcoming heavy rainfall expected due to hurricane Beryl, it's recommended to add shock (2lbs.) to the pool to help the pool water recover before and/or after the heavy rainfall event. You can pick up pool shock at any pool supply store, Costco, Sams, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.
After a heavy rainfall all of that extra water washes out pool chlorine levels, pool chemistry and also any algaecide that has been added. Adding shock to a pool is simple. Just walk around the perimeter of the pool and add 2lbs. of shock slowly. You can also mix it with water in a bucket and then slowly pour in while walking around the pool. Rainwater contains all types of contaminants and shocking the pool immediately following a heavy rain event will get the pool on recovery mode quickly and will also help the pool from going Green before we can get there for weekly maintenance.
