Some places call to you. Yesterday I learned that the Ariquepa, Peru sun is no joke. It’s 58 degrees, but the sun is intense, so sunglasses, SPF 50, a hat, and layers have officially become part of the daily plan. 😎

I’m also discovering how walkable Arequipa is. The historic district is beautiful, full of Spanish colonial architecture, and I’ve barely scratched the surface of what there is to see.

What stands out most, though, is the feeling here. There are people everywhere, yet there’s a calmness to the city. Life feels a little slower. Spanish is definitely the language here, and every day brings something new to experience.

I experience peace wherever I go because peace isn’t outside of me, but there is something distinct about being here. The best way I can describe it is that it feels familiar, like I’ve been here before, even though I haven’t. ❤️
