Spring is here, and with the warmer weather comes more motorcyclists on our roadways. This is your reminder to stay alert and share the road safely with riders.

Keep these safety tips in mind:
• Allow motorcycles the full width of a lane at all times

• ALWAYS signal when changing lanes or merging

• Use caution if a motorcycle’s signal is on — they may be non-canceling

• Make sure a motorcycle is actually turning before proceeding

• Check mirrors and blind spots carefully — motorcycles can be hard to see

• Keep a safe following distance (3–4 seconds)

• Never drive distracted or impaired
