A shout-out to all of our (PE) industry friends! By definition, engineers are (paraphrasing) “ … professionals who invent, design, analyze, build, and test machines, complex systems, structures, gadgets, and materials … while considering the limitations imposed by practicality, regulation, safety, and cost.” We are so thankful for these professionals, who make not only our industry a better place, but the world as a whole. We had a fun CAS team outing last Thursday for game two of the Astros/Yankees double-header. Enjoyed great seats, food, drinks, and even better company! The view was amazing, and it was a win for our ‘Stros. Houston Astros

Last week, our CEO, Jerri Anderson, was honored to attend the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Summit, as part of the 2,500+ alumni from the 10,000 Small Businesses program that gathered in Washington, D.C. for two fantastic days of education, encouragement, and advocacy. The summit was the largest-ever gathering of small business owners in the United States. Two of the many inspirational speakers were the former U.S. President, George W. Bush, as well as the current U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg. We were also proud to see our rebranding on display!

Our communications manager, Katie Hirschheim, attended the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) awards gala on Friday night and accepted a very special award on behalf of her former boss, mentor, and friend – a long-time, dear friend of ours here at Community Awareness Services – Ruth Henshall, former owner of The Lentz Group. SMPS Houston (posthumously) honored Ruth with the Hall of Fame Award; so well deserved. It was a lovely evening and we’re certain Ruth was beaming with pride and gratitude.

While we celebrate everyday around here, this week is – a week dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
