📕Juneteenth Story Time at ! I read THEY BUILT ME FOR FREEDOM and hung around for another hour talking to patrons and selling and autographing books. It’s been a busy Juneteenth holiday season, but lots of fun!! 😃 I left a couple of signed copies in store, so grab them before they’re gone, if you’re in the area, to share with little ones. Students listened to They Built Me for Freedom: The Story of Juneteenth and Houston’s Emancipation Park by Tonya Duncan Ellis , illustrated by Jenin Mohammed We discussed what freedom means to us and created special flags showing what freedom allows us to do, be, and become.
