Three years ago today, we were handed the keys to Robin, Rio Grande, and Big Tex and made it our mission to keep building guitars and pickups and keep Dave Wintz's legacy alive. Ownership may have changed that day in 2023, but even in 2026 our methods and our craft have stayed the exact same. Everything we make is still hand crafted right here in Houston with the same recipes, same tools, and the same craftsmanship players have come to expect and rely on.

This Throwback Thursday, we're taking a peek at the Robin Octave! 👀 The Robin Octave featured a short scale neck and was tuned an octave above standard, making it perfect for playing mandolin-range melodies in a comfortable, sleek electric guitar-shaped package (no shade to the mandos)!

That's a pretty rare decal!

This pretty Robin RG-80 came back home to us for some setup work and a cleanup... Still plays pretty dang nice! 🤘 Japanese-made Robins from the Tokai factory are still highly sought-after, especially models like this strat style RG which saw very limited production numbers.
